Ruzha Semova was born on March 29th, 1977 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Her grandmother discovered early her grand-daughter’s interest in music, especially the piano and introduced her at the age of 3½ years to her first piano teacher Violeta Kabadova.

In 1984 Ruzha Semova was accepted to study in the “L.Pipkov” music school in Sofia.
At the age of 9 she obtained her first recognition – 2nd prize from the "Svetoslav Obretenov" competition in Provadia, Bulgaria. An year later she gained an international recognition – 2nd Prize from the „Virtuosi per musica di pianoforte“ competition in the Czech Republic.
In 1996 Ruzha Semova graduated on top of the class with special honours in the piano class of Zveta Kuncheva.

She pursued her studies at the National Academy of Music in Sofia in the piano class of Anton Dikov and graduated in the year 2000 with distinction.

In 2007 she completed her master’s degree in music with distinction, at the University of Music in Vienna, where she studied with prof.Stefan Vladar.

Beside her studies, she has participated in the master classes of several renowned artists, such as Marko Tezza, Germaine Mounier, Dmitry Bashkirov and Anders Ljungar-Chapelon.

Mrs. Semova has performed with most Bulgarian symphony orchestras and has recorded for the Bulgarian National Television, Bulgarian National Radio and the private radio station “Classic FM”. Professional activity outside of Bulgaria includes concerts in Austria, Germany, France, USA, Canada, Israel, Japan, Peru, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland. Furthermore, she has been invited to participate in many international festivals such as: "Klavierfestival Ruhr" (Germany), "Chopin Festival" in Paris, Summer Academy Lilienfeld (Lilienfeld, Austria), "Varna Summer", "Nedyalka Simeonova" and "Apollonia" (Bulgaria) .

Since 2012 is Ruzha Semova associate professor for chamber music at the Summer Academy in Lilienfeld, Austria.

Mrs. Semova lives presently in Vienna and next to her concerting activity she teaches piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
